Learn More About COVID-19 Testing for Travel to Brazil
Brazil has no mandatory vaccination requirements or any quarantine requirements. On the other hand, your vaccination status determines which testing and documentation requirements you need to fulfill. An unvaccinated traveler must undergo a required antigen or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test within 24 hours from the scheduled arrival date in Brazil. Either COVID-19 test must get done at an accredited laboratory, such as the one at Urgent Care La Jolla in San Diego.
If the PCF test comes back negative, you will be allowed to board a plane for Brazil. Ensure you bring the test results showing your PCR test returned negative within 24 hours of the arrival date. If you don’t produce this documentation at the airport, you cannot board the plane. Fully vaccinated travelers won’t need to take a PCR test within 24 hours and prove the results are negative. Instead, the vaccinated travelers must bring their official vaccination cards to the airport to verify their vaccination status. In addition, all children under 12 years of age won’t have to present proof of negative test results on a PCR test before departure.
